    Constructed as a Kittyhawk I.

    Circa 1941

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n AK753.
    Paper assignment for transfer to RCAF.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Canadian Air Force.

    Editors note: Apparently after the paper assignment for transfer to RCAF, c/n AK753 was reassigned to a Kittyhawk assigned to No.2 Squadron of the South African Air Force in Egypt. That aircraft was lost 6/30/42 when it had a mid-air collision with No. 14 Squadron Blenheim Z7485 during a dust storm. The airframe on this dossier was an RCAF bird.

    Purchased from Mr. Diemert as a restoration project.

    From Circa 1992 to 1998

    Contracted to Tom Wilson/Brooks Aviation, Douglas, GA for work on the airframe.

    From 1993 to 1998

    Restored.
    Composite restoration at Griffin, GA. Possibly parts from P-40E 41-36206, as well as others.

    12 March 1998

    To Ron J. Fagen, Granite Falls, MN with new c/r N4420K.

    July 1998

    First post-restoration Flight.

    30 March 2000

    To Gerry Beck/Dakota Warhawk Llc, Wahpeton, ND keeping c/r N4420K.

    7 May 2003

    To unknown owner with c/r N4420K.
    Sale reported to a new owner in Granite Falls, ND.

    To Ron J. Fagen, Granite Falls, MN keeping c/r N4420K.
    (Mr. Beck passed away, so Mr. Fagen acquired the plane back).

    Involved in an incident.
    The incident occurred at the Lincoln Municipal Airport (LNK) Lincoln, NE, United States while landing. The damage was minor. Upon touchdown, the World War II era tailwheel-equipped airplane experienced an uncontrollable swerve as the right main landing gear began to collapse. As the right main gear exited the edge of the runway, the airplane rocked forward onto its nose and the propeller and left wing tip impacted the ground...
