    Constructed as an AH-1G-BF by Bell at Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 69-16446.

    May 1970

    In-transit to South Vietnam.

    September 1970

    To 334th Armored Helicopter Company, Di An, South Vietnam.

    28 December 1970

    Damaged.
    AH-1G 69-16466 was involved in a combat incident during a close air support mission. While flying at 1,000 feet and 130 knots, the helicopter sustained three hits from small arms or automatic weapons firing non-explosive projectiles under 20 mm. One crew member was injured, but the aircraft remained operational, continued its flight, completed all mission objectives, and was eventually recovered at Quan Loi. The helicopter was repaired in-theater.

    Transferred to 334th Assualt Helicopter Company, Di An, South Vietnam.

    12 March 1971

    Damaged.
    While in flight, the 0-degree tail rotor cover of AH-1G 69-16466 separated, striking and damaging the vertical fin.

    February 1972

    Transferred to 605th Transportation Company, South Vietnam.

    March 1972

    Returned to the United States.

    July 1972

    To Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center (ARADMAC), NAS Corpus Christi, TX.

    January 1973

    To Army Aviation Systems Command (AVSCOM), Saint Louis, MO.

    February 1973

    To ARADMAC, NAS Corpus Christi, TX.

    July 1973

    Transferred to 101st Airborne Division, 1st Army, Fort Campbell, KY.

    Converted to a TAH-1F.

    Converted to an AH-1F.

    By June 2006

    To Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1419, Hamburg, NY.
