I don't see anything at site N.

At some point I revised the dossier and created airframe dossiers.

Thanks for the heads-up anyway.

The F-18 was involved in a mid-air collision with another F-18. It came back missing a portion of the nose and right wing. These were replaced with parts from the other aircraft, which may or may not still be on the base somewhere; I am looking on satelite photos to confirm.

Did some digging, and found a image on Bing Bird's Eye that shows 3 F-18 huls just north of the runway intersections. However, on the more recent images from Google, these are no longer there and, as this collision occured in 1996, it is safe to assume that the 3 hornets are no longer there and if F/A-18A 162475 still exists, it is probably on a target range and is long gone from NAS Oceana

I very much appreciate the effort you are making here, but I don't see the connection with the F-18s you are referring to with this location. Which F-18 had the mid-air collision?
