A Tale of Two Myrick Brothers
    World War II

My great aunt Eunice was a young woman during WWII. She dated Jack Myrick, but then Jack went off to war as aircrew on a Halifax bomber. Jack, along with his crew mates were lost on a mission to Germany. My aunt became good friends with this brother, Rex (pictured here). Rex joined the RCAF as a Beaufighter Pilot. Rex too was lost on operations. I, Mike Henniger, was given my aunt's photos of these two brothers when she died, and I have presented them here. I think you will agree the photos tell a story.
    Photos by Oswald Wickenden
    World War II

Oswald Wickenden was a navigator on Halifax bombers during WWII. His son Gord loaned me his dad's photos so I, Mike Henniger, could scan them and post them here. I think you will enjoy this collection. These photos can not be found anywhere else.
    Photos by John Owad
    World War II

John Owad was a mechanic who worked on the Northrop P-61 Black Widows. His plane was P-61B-2-NO with USAAF s/n 42-39412 USAAF and c/n 931. Mr. Owad says that the plane was named "HOP N' DITTY" by the pilot William Charlesworth. The name means "A-Okay" or "Fine and Dandy" and 42-39412 likely always was was!

    Photos by John Thomas
    Circa 1950s

John Thomas was a flying instructor in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan in Canada during WWII. He reentered service with the RCAF in the 1950s and commanded a squadron of Sabres. These photos were taken during that time in various locations. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. The scans were made from copy negatives which unfortunately have been deteriorating.
    Photos by A.J.S. Timmins
    Circa 1950s

"Tim" Timmins was a navigator on RCAF North Stars, a Canadair-built version of the DC-4. This album is a selection of Tim's pictures taken during the Korean airlift in the 1950s.
