Incident occurred at the Old Rhinebeck Airport, Rhinebeck, NY. This was a local flight from Rhinebeck, NY. The propellar or rotor injured a person while starting engine (s). Report remarks include: Pilot didnt follow mechanics instructions and turned on switch when prop pulled thru.

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Old Rhinebeck Airport (NY94) Rhinebeck, NY, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. The commercial pilot stated that, during takeoff from a turf runway, the left main landing gear collapsed but did not separate from the airplane; the pilot continued the takeoff. During the subsequent landing, the airplane touched down, nosed over and came to rest inverted...
