    Constructed as a Spitfire LF.IX by Vickers-Armstrong at Castle Bromwich.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n MK912.

    Transferred to 8 MU.
    Accepted by 8 MU. Installed military equipment.

    Transferred to 84 Group Support Unit, RAF Aston Down.

    Transferred to 312 Squadron (Czech).

    From 6 June 1944 to 10 June 1944

    While with 312 Squadron MK912 took part in D-Day with the objective of Protecting the Invasion Fleet and landings. The squadron operated with whole wing and provided a fighter umbrella for the invasion fleet. During this time she was piloted by F/O. Liskutin and P/O. Cap and Sgt. Kukuoka.

    Transferred to 84 GSU.

    Transferred to Service Training Ltd, Exeter.
    Overhauled by Services Training.

    From 18 April 1946 to July 1946

    Transferred to 33 MU, RAF Lyneham.
    Stored pending further overhaul.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Koninklijke Luchtmacht / Royal Netherlands Air Force with s/n H-119.

    Transported by ship.

    Involved in an incident.
    The Spitfire crashed on a test flight from Biggin Hill will fly again after its pilot performed a textbook landing. Pilot Dan Griffiths lost all power seconds after he took off from the runway and managed to glide the aircraft down without causing a catastrophic amount of damage.

    2023

    Restoration started.
    Under rebuild at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar. Fuselage is nearing completion.

    First post-restoration Flight.
    Leon Monk comments (17 September 2024): After 9 years. Restoration completed and First test flight from Biggin Hill, flown by Dan Griffith. MK912 now wearing the markings she wore on D-Day, of 312 Czech Squadron with Invasion Stripes.
