    Constructed as an AD-4W by Douglas at El Segundo, California, USA.

    24 January 1951

    First flight.

    Circa February 1951

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 124121.

    25 September 1953

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Navy with s/n WT983 and operated with these markings: WT121.
    To Fleet Air Arm as Skyraider AEW.1 (last 3 digits of BuNo, incorrect serial number applied in USA as WT121 but retained by RN throughout airframes career) WT121 was assigned to a Canberra B2 which was cancelled. Correct s/n was never painted on airframe during its career.

    25 September 1953

    Redesignated as Skyraider AEW.1.

    22 September 1960

    Placed on display with RNAS Culdrose.

    By 1974

    Markings Applied: 415, CU, WT121
    Incorrectly painted as WT121.
