    Constructed as a C-47A-5-DK by Douglas at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

    24 January 1944

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-92451.

    4 February 1944

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n FZ668.

    Ferry flight.
    Ferried to England.

    March 1944

    Transferred to 271th Squadron.

    5 June 1944

    2320 hours, FZ668 took off with a Fleet of 108 RAF C-47s, heading to France with Paratroopers on board.

    6 June 1944

    D-Day. The target of FZ668 is the Dive River in France. The paratroopers are to destroy a bridge that leads across the river Dive. FZ668 returned safely to Blakehill Farm UK at 0310 hours.

    March 1946

    Transferred to 525th Squadron.

    3 September 1946

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-92451.

    3 April 1947

    To Trans-Canada Air Lines with new c/r CF-TER.

    The restoration was aborted and the plane was offered for sale on EBay.

    To Buffalo Airways.
    Mikey McBryan (Buffalo Airways) buys the plane. He accompanies the entire restoration work with the camera and turns it into a series on Youtube called Plane Savers.

    Restoration started.
    The first volunteers begin the restoration of the C-FDTD.

    1 May 2019

    To Michael McBryan, Hay River, NT with new c/r C-FDTD.

    The restoration is carried out with the help of the EAN (Aecole nationale d aerotechnique) in Montreal. Some needed parts are contributed by Buffalo Joe from Buffalo Airways. The restoration of the C-FDTD is carried out in record time of about 60 days. She should be ready by the time the D-Day festivities started.
