During a recon for armed escort mission, AH-1G 66-15316 was in orbit at 50 feet and 120 knots when it took 2 hits from enemy 7.62mm ground fire to the underside of the airframe. The rounds damaged the structure. 66-15316 was able to maintain flight and accomplish all mission objectives. |
