    Constructed as an AH-1G-BF by Bell at Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

    November 1967

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 66-15316.

    December 1967

    To DIR SUP/TRAN, Sharpe Army Depot, CA.

    January 1968

    Transferred to 355th Aviation Company, 4th Army, Fort Sill, OK.

    February 1968

    Transferred to B Troop, 1-9 CAV, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), South Vietnam.

    26 April 1968

    Damaged.
    During a recon for armed escort mission, AH-1G 66-15316 was in orbit at 50 feet and 120 knots when it took 2 hits from enemy 7.62mm ground fire to the underside of the airframe. The rounds damaged the structure. 66-15316 was able to maintain flight and accomplish all mission objectives.

    To Bell Helicopter Company, For Worth, TX.

    By June 1968

    Transferred to 355th Aviation Company, 4th Army, Fort Sill, OK.

    July 1968

    In-transit to Vietnam.

    August 1968

    Transferred to B Troop, 1-9 CAV, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), South Vietnam.

    October 1970

    Transferred to C Battery, 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment, South Vietnam.

    20 October 1970

    Damaged.
    While in-flight over Bearcat Base, South Vietnam, AH-1G 66-15316 suffered engine failure and autorotated into the ground, causing a hard landing. Crewman W2 Cookson was injured.

    November 1970

    To Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center (ARADMAC), NAS Corpus Christi, TX.
    For repairs.

    May 1971

    Transferred to Det., 5th Aviation Battalion, South Vietnam.

    July 1971

    Transferred to AVN TNG TEAM, South Vietnam.

    Transferred to Supply Division, 5th Army, Fort Knox, KY.

    May 1974

    Transferred to Installation Maintenance Flight (INST MAINT FLT), 1st Army, Fort Campbell, KY.

    October 1974

    Transferred to 1st CAV., 5th Army, Fort Hood, TX.

    March 1975

    Transferred to 6th CAV. Brigade, 5th Army, Fort Hood, TX.

    Converted to an AH-1F.

    By July 1983

    Transferred to C Company, 3rd Aviation Battalion (C), 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, Schweinfurt, West Germany.
