    Dates

    Event

From Circa 1942 to Circa 1943

Constructed as a HA-1112-M1L by Hispano at Spain.

Taken on Strength/Charge with the Ejercito de Aire with s/n C.4K-122.
It is thought to be one of the original batch of twenty-five aircraft supplied to Spain. All instrumentation is German, and of the identifiable Spanish-manufactured parts, many appear to be identical to the original German versions.

    From 14 May 1968 to 17 February 1969

To Spitfire Productions Limited, London, UK with new c/r G-AWHL (HISPANO HA-1112 M1L, 186).

    Circa 1969

Used in the filming of the move Battle of Britain.

    After 17 February 1969

    Returned to Spain.

    Circa 1970

Used in the filming of the movie Patton.

    1972

    To Douglas Champlin.

    Circa 11 December 1975

Certificate of airworthiness for N109J (ME 109 G, 392) issued.

    11 December 1975

To Windward Aviation Inc, Seattle, WA with new c/r N109J.

    Restored.
    Markings Applied: 0392, 1
Reconfigured it as closely as possible to the original Bf-109. Locating a Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine and associated cowling proved impossible, so a DB 605 was substituted. Appropriate to the aircrafts history, the cowling and engine are most likely from Bf 109E J392, the initial Dornier-Swiss-built aircraft delivered in 1945.
