    Constructed as a Tornado Prototype.

    30 October 1974

    First flight.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n XX946.

    1974

    Sent for installation additional equipment on schedule.

    2 April 1975

    Involved in an incident.
    While on a low speed run over the Warton airfield a herring gull entered the port engine intake. The engine was shut down and a landing was made at Warton.

    June 1975

    Flight refueling probe installed with further flight trials following.

    17 February 1978

    Involved in an incident.
    Both engines failed but were restarted.

    17 December 1985

    To RAF Honington, Suffolk.

    New serial number assigned: 8883M RAF
    Used for ground instruction.

    2 February 1986

    To TWCU, RAF Honington.
    Used for ground crew training for weapons loading procedure development.

    21 March 1990

    To RAF Laarbruch, Germany.
    Sent to Laarbruch for additional instructional use.

    3 March 1992

    To TWCU, RAF Honington.

    27 September 1994

    To RAF Museum, RAF Honington, Suffolk.

    16 November 1994

    To RAF Museum, Grahame Park Way, Hendon, London, England.

    Reassembled.

    By 4 March 2003

    Dismantling started for the move to the RAF Museum at Cosford.

    11 March 2003

    Transported by ground. Delivered to Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford, Cosford, Shropshire, England.
    Moved by road to RAF Museum at Cosford for display.
