    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was destroyed. There were three fatalities. There were 10,217 hours on the airframe at the time. The flight departed Reno-Stead Airport, NV (KRTS), United States of America. The accident occurred at 3,8 km (2. 4 mls) NW of Reno-Stead Airport, NV (United States of America) while in the initial climb. Narrative: Lockheed SP-2H Neptune, Tanker 09, was destroyed after impacting terrain following a loss of power and loss of control about 2 miles northwest of the Reno/Stead Airport, Nevada...

    Crashed.
    There were three fatalities. The accident occurred at the Reno/stead Airport (RTS) Reno, NV, United States while taking off. The airframe was destroyed. Just after the airplanes landing gear was retracted during takeoff for a retardant drop mission, a ball of fire was observed coming out of the left jet engine before the airplane rolled steeply to the left and descended into the terrain...
