    Constructed as a HO3S-1G.

    1946

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Coast Guard with s/n 235.

    Transferred to USCG Air Station Salem, MA.

    4 September 1951

    Pilot Lt. Clarence Easter and crew were dispatched to USAF pilot who had parachuted over the Atlantic Ocean. Sling rescue was unsuccessful. Aircraft was equipped with floatation gear so Easter landed the aircraft in the water, dove into the water and rescued the unconscious pilot. Easter awarded Coast Guard Silver Life Saving Medal.

    24 March 1961

    Certificate of airworthiness for N4927E (S-51, 51214) issued.

    16 June 1981

    To Louis H. Petkow, San Pedro, CA with new c/r N4927E.

    To National Naval Aviation Museum, NAS Pensacola, Pensacola, FL.
