    Circa 4 October 1940

    Ferry flight.
    From Burbank, CA to New York, NY. Export CofA E-6517.

    From After 4 October 1940 to 19 November 1940

    Transported by ship.
    From USA to South Africa.

    1 January 1941

    Assigned civil registration: ZS-ASU
    Although this aircraft was ordered by South African Airlines, immediately after delivery it was impressed by SAAF but retaining previously reserved civil registration and SAA markings until CofA expired.

    Circa January 1941

    Transferred to No. 5 Wing SAAF.

    10 December 1941

    Certificate of airworthiness for ZS-ASU expired.

    Circa 10 December 1941

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the South African Air Force with s/n 1373.

    April 1942

    Temporarily modified to bomber configuration in anticipation of Japanese invasion of Madagascar. Later restored back to original configuration.

    May 1945

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the South African Air Force.

    From 4 May 1945 to May 1950

    To South African Airlines with new c/r ZS-ASU.

    From May 1950 to January 1953

    To East African Airways.
    Delivered to EAA in Nairobi on 05 September.

    6 September 1950

    Assigned civil registration: VP-KHW

    Converted to a L-18-56.
    By fitting two Wright R-1820 Cyclone engines.

    From January 1953 to 1956

    To Comair.

    4 February 1953

    Assigned civil registration: ZS-DHK

    From 1956 to April 1957

    To Aero-Nord, Sweden.
