    Constructed as an AH-1G.

    January 1968

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 67-15475.

    February 1968

    Transferred to 355th Aviation Company, Fort Sill, OK.

    A few internet sites using the same source show this aircraft first arrived in Vietnam in March 1967. This was obviously a typo-graphical error at the original source.

    From March 1968 to December 1971

    Transferred to C Troop, 7th Squadron, 1st Air Cavalry Regiment, Vinh Long Army Airfield, South Vietnam.
    Located in the Mekong Delta.

    27 July 1969

    Damaged.
    Damaged due to weapons malfunction.

    6 February 1970

    Damaged.
    Shot down by heavy enemy ground fire while providing armed escort for MEDEVAC helicopters, two crewmen wounded. Retrieved and repaired.

    15 April 1970

    Damaged.
    Damaged while providing direct fire support to infantry.

    13 July 1970

    Damaged.
    Shot down by heavy small arms fire while providing support for an armed escort mission. Retrieved and repaired.

    19 January 1971

    Damaged.
    Severely damaged by hostile fire while providing direct escort protection to ground troops.

    6 July 1971

    Damaged.
    Damaged by heavy ground fire on an armed escort mission.

    This Cobra helicopter carried three personalized names during its 3 1/2 years in Vietnam: My Diane, Mar and Judy In The Sky. It accumulated 3,127 flight hours during its in-country tour. Crew members earned 5 Purple Hearts.

    January 1972

    Transferred to Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center (ARADMAC), NAS Corpus Christi, TX.

    May 1972

    Transferred to Flight Detachment, Aviation Systems Command, Saint Louis, MO.

    August 1972

    Transferred to Supply Systems Maintenance Center, HI.

    May 1973

    Transferred to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI.

    July 1973

    Transferred to Navy Supply Systems Maintenance Center, HI.

    From May 1974 to September 1975

    Transferred to 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI.

    October 1975

    Transferred to B Troop, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI.

    Circa 1980

    Converted to an AH-1S (Modernized).

    By April 1987

    Transferred to 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Germany.

    1988

    Redesignated as AH-1F.

    Transferred to Tennessee Army National Guard.

    By November 1997

    Transferred to Mississippi Aviation Classification and Repair Depot, Gulfport, MS.

    September 2006

    To Veterans Memorial Park, Dixon, IL.
