    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 64-14232.

    Circa November 1965

    To Udorn RTAFB, Thailand.

    1 March 1966

    Converted to a HH-3E.

    17 April 1966

    Damaged.
    While on a rescue and recovery mission for a downed pilot, this HH-3E was damaged by enemy small arms fire in the landing gear. It took 2 hits from a 7.62mm weapon, likely an AK-47. In addition to the landing gear, the hydraulic and main rotor systems and structure were damaged. The aircraft was able to return to base and was repaired in theater.

    Damaged.
    While on a rescue and recovery mission for a downed pilot, this HH-3E was damaged by enemy small arms fire in the forward area. It took 4 hits to the nose, all from a 7.62mm weapon. One of the crewmen was wounded. The structure was damaged by these impacts. The aircraft was able to return to base and was repaired in theater.

    Transferred to 37th ARRS, 3rd ARRG, Nakhon Phanom RTAB, Thailand.

    4 April 1968

    Transferred to 40th ARRS, 3rd ARRG, Nakhon-Phanom RTAB, Thailand.

    24 March 1969

    Transferred to Det. 1, 40th ARRS, 3rd ARRG, Nakhon Phanom, RTAFB, Thailand.

    3 December 1969

    Damaged.
    While on a rescue and recovery mission for a downed pilot, this HH-3E was damaged by enemy small arms fire. The helo was in a descent at 500 feet and 100 knots when it took 4 hits from a 7.62mm weapon. The impacts hit the fuel tanks, but since they were self-sealing they did not leak. The impacts also damaged the main rotor system and driveshaft. The helicopter was able to continue in flight and completed all mission objectives.

    Transferred to 44th ARRS, Patrick AFB, FL.

    6 January 1971

    Transferred to 39th ARRW, Howard AFB, Panama Canal Zone.

    Transferred to 129th ARRS, 129th ARRG, California ANG, Howard ANGB, CA.
    Operated with markings: RESCUE, CALIFORNIA AIR GUARD
