    Constructed as a F-89D-60-NO by Northrop at Hawthorne, California, USA.

    Circa 1953

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 53-2547.

    Circa 1957

    Converted to a F-89J.

    19 July 1957

    Was first fighter aircraft to fire a live nuclear missile on Jul 19, 1957 when launched an MB-1 Genie over Yucca Flats Nuclear Test Site as test shot John in the Operation Plumb Bob series. Rocket was detonated at 15,000 feet by a signal from the ground.

    From 1960 to 1968

    Transferred to 186th FIS, 120th FIG, Montana ANG, Gore Field, MT.
