    Constructed as a N2S-5 by Boeing.

    January 1945

    Was allocated BuNo 60591 with the United States Navy but was not taken up.

    13 January 1945

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-17800 as a PT-13D.

    January 1945

    At USAAF request the plane was specially fitted with an electrical system, radio and additional instrumentation.

    February 1945

    A special roll out ceremony was held at Wichita.

    February 1945

    Transferred to Headquarters, USAAF Midwest Procurement District, Wichita, KS.

    Circa 9 November 1945

    Certificate of airworthiness for N41766 (E75 (PT-13D), 755963) issued.

    9 November 1945

    To Boeing Airplane Co, Wichita, KS with new c/r N41766.
    Operated with markings: 10,346th Kaydet
    This plane was actually the 63rd from last; Boeing erred with the plane markings.

    Boeing Vice President J.E.Schaefer rode from Wichita to Dayton on the last company-conducted biplane flight to make the presentation to the USAF Museum.

    Marked as it appeared leaving the assembly line: USAAF data block on port side just forward of cockpit, tail with 60591, N2S-5. Problem exists in that the batch transferred to the USAAF with BuNo 60591 would be c/n 75-4713.
