    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 56-2008.

    Transferred to 1607th Air Transport Wing (Heavy), Military Air Transport Service, Dover AFB, DE.

    16 December 1958

    Set world record for propeller-driven aircraft by lifting a cargo payload of 117,900 lbs to 10,000 ft.

    8 January 1966

    Transferred to 436th Military Airlift Wing, Military Airlift Command, Dover AFB, DE.
    Reorganization which included 1607th ATW.

    17 March 1971

    Ferry flight. Delivered to National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
    Flew directly from Dover AFB upon retirement of the plane.
