    Event

    Constructed as a RB-36H-30-CF by Convair at Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

    Circa 1951

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 51-13730.

    From 1952 to 1957

    Transferred to 28th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing, Rapid City Air Force Base, South Dakota (Ellsworth AFB after June 1953).

    1957

    Transferred to Chanute AFB, IL.
    Sent to Chanute as a training airframe. It wasnt having worked with the B-36 in Fort Worth and the knowing I was going there I steped off the two planes took pictures from the same distances and looked the aircraft over. Its just a rumor.

    Damaged.
    A storm blew her on her tail and a large repair was installed. Wendell Montague commented - 29 December 2013: A rumor persisted it was shortened.

    Displayed with markings of a B-36D at Chanute. Finally was part of Chanute Air Museum.

    Restored.
    Most of the magnesium skins were replaced with aluminum skins by sheetmetal students.

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force Loan Program, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.

    Loaned to Castle Air Museum, Atwater, CA.

    By 1991

    Placed on display with Castle Air Museum, Castle Airport (formerly Castle AFB), Atwater, CA.
    It was brought to Castle in 167 pieces, requiring 11 flatbed railway cars to move it. It took the efforts of dozens of volunteers and two and a half years of work to reassemble and paint the B-36.
