    From Circa 1999 to 2023

    Constructed as a P-51C (replica).
    Warren A Pietsch acquired the tail wheel assembly and other parts of USAAF s/n 44-10911 c/n 111-29044 c/r N5528N, but with paperwork identifying it as 2925 which is thought to have been USAAF s/n 43-2925.

    From 23 June 1999 to 30 April 2015

    To Pietsch Aircraft Restoration and Repair/Warren A Pietsch, Minot, ND with new c/r N151LP.
    Mr Peitsch petitioned the FAA for the formal registration of the *aircraft* and registration as N151LP also indicating he wanted to rebuild the aircraft.

    Restoration started.

    18 April 2019

    To Warren A. Pietsch, Minot, ND with new c/r N150LP.

    20 August 2019

    To Warren A. Pietsch, Minot, ND with new c/r N5528N {2}.

    2020

    Restoration continued.
    The work was carried out by Air Corps Aviation, Bemidji, Middesota.

    27 May 2023

    First engine run.

    5 June 2023

    Certificate of airworthiness for NX5528N {2} (P-51C, 2925) issued.

    First post-restoration Flight.
    Flown by Bernie Vasquez at Bemidji, MN.

    Markings Applied: Thunderbird
    Moved to the hangar of Aircraft Refinishing to be painted as the original Thunderbird.
