    Constructed as a F-89D-35-NO by Northrop at Hawthorne, California, USA.

    28 June 1954

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 52-1856.

    From 28 June 1954 to June 1957

    To 18th FIS, 514th Air Defense Group, Minneapolis-Saint Paul IAP, MN.
    The plaque at Bangor says that this F-89 was delivered to the 18th FIS at Hill AFB, UT, however, during that same time the 18th FIS was assigned to MSP in Minnesota.

    June 1957

    Converted to a F-89J.
    Conversion to F-89J done at Hill AFB, UT.

    28 September 1959

    Transferred to 319th FIS, 30th Air Division, Bunker Hill AFB, IN.

    10 December 1959

    Transferred to 132nd FIS, 101st FIG, Maine ANG, Bangor ANGB, ME.
    Operated with markings: MAINE, 56
    During the time this aircraft was assigned to the 132nd it was flown on 963 missions for a total of 1,852 hours.

    16 July 1969

    Last flight.
