    At the Langley factory, near Slough, Buckinghamshire

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n LF686.

    14 March 1944

    Transferred to 5 Maintenance Unit, RAF Kemble.

    15 April 1944

    Transferred to 41 Operational Training Unit, RAF Hawarden.

    27 June 1945

    Transferred to RAF Maintenance Command, RAF Chilbolton, Hampshire.
    As a Ground Instruction airframe.

    27 June 1945

    New serial number assigned: 5270M RAF

    July 1948

    Transferred to No. 7 School for Recruit Training, RAF Bridgenorth.
    As a Gate Guardian.

    Markings Applied: LF686
    Painted silver overall sometime after arriving at RAF Bridgenorth.

    1963

    Assigned to RAF Colerne for storage.
    For overhaul and storage.

    Circa 1969

    To Smithsonian National Air Museum.
    In exchange for a Hawker Typhoon.

    1969

    Transported by air.
    From UK to USA in a RAF Transport aircraft.

    From 1989 to 2000

    Restored.
    At the Smithsonian Garber Facility.

    To Smithsonian, National Air and Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, Chantilly, Reston, VA.
