    For extensive maintenance.

    Maintenance and subsequent long-term store.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Ministry of Defence with s/n XL603.
    At British Aerospaces (BAe) Brough plant.

    30 June 1975

    Converted to a Hunter T.8M.
    Fitted with the Blue Fox radar as used in the Sea Harrier FRS.1, and also had half of its cockpit modified to that of a Sea Harrier.

    From October 1978 to April 1981

    Transferred to RAE (Royal Aircraft Establishment) Bedford.
    Operated on radar trials.

    Placed in open store shortly after, acting as a spares ship for the active FRADU aeroplanes.

    Offered for disposal at the November 1994 Sothebys auction.for Au2,600 to Clive Forshaw, and it was moved by road to Bruntingthorpe airfield in Leicestershire.

    November 1994

    To Clive Forshaw, Bruntingthorpe.
    Placed on static display.

    1999

    To Global Aviation Inc, Tulsa, USA.
    Dismantled at Bruntingthorpe and shipped to USA by sea during March 2000.

    14 August 2000

    To Flight Ventures Inc, Wilmington, DE with new c/r N603XL.

    Based at International Business Jets, Tulsa International Airport, Tulsa, OK.
