    Constructed as a B-17G-105-VE by Lockheed-Vega at Burbank, California, USA.

    18 May 1945

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 44-85740.

    18 May 1945

    Assigned to USAAF, Syracuse, NY for storage.

    7 November 1945

    Transferred to Altus AFB, OK.
    Sent here for stripping of military equipment.

    June 1946

    To Metal Products Inc, Amarillo, TX.
    Purchased for $750 as scrap.

    July 1946

    To Universal Aviation Inc, Tulsa, OK with new c/r NL5017N.
    Used as aerial mapping platform.

    2 August 1947

    To Charles T. Winters, Miami, FL with new c/r N5017N.

    16 August 1947

    To Vero Beach Export and Import Co, Vero Beach, FL keeping c/r N5017N.

    From August 1947 to 1949

    Used as a cargo hauler, hauling cattle in Florida and Puerto Rico, necessitating removal of the original radio compartment and floor, replacing it with a strengthened floor.

    27 June 1949

    To Aero Services Corp, Philadelphia, PA keeping c/r N5017N.

    From July 1949 to 1962

    Returned to use as aerial photography and surveying platform. It carried out mapping operations over Arabia, Libya, Lebanon, Iran, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Egypt and Jordan.

    10 August 1962

    To Chris D. Stolzfus and Assoc., Coatsville, PA keeping c/r N5017N.
    Modified for aerial application.

    December 1966

    To Dothan Aviation Corp, Dothan, AL keeping c/r N5017N.

    From 1967 to 1976

    A chemical hopper and spray bars were fitted under the wings. Operated as a pest control, forest dusting and fire fighting aircraft.
