    Constructed as a L-5.

    After 1952

    Surplus L-5s were converted by Wayne Clevenger Aircraft Co from 1952 to biplane crop dusters with 220hp Continental W-670.The conversion involved a modified rear cabin to accommodate a chemical hopper, the removal of the rear cabin windows and the aircraft was changed into a (strutted wing) biplane, with the lower wings coming from Luscombe Model 8A Silvaire aircraft.

    Involved in an incident.
    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number OAK72FVM01: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 06:45 hours. The damage was substantial. This was a local flight from Milpitas, CA. The engine failed or malfunctioned while on a crop dusting run. The gear collapsed during the landing rollout. The factors included; overload failure. There was a partial power loss with the failure of one engine. The emergency circumstances included; forced off-airport landing on land...
