    Constructed as a Dr.1 (replica).
    Built by New York dentist, Richard Coughlin. Fitted with a Warner Scarab radial engine.

    Notes: This was taken in Dr Coughlins driveway in Manlius New York. He built much of the airplane in the basement of this house at 7632 Somerset lane.

    Notes: This was taken the day after the accident. Family and friends turned out in droves to help disassemble the plane and bring it back to the airport.

    Involved in an incident.
    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number NYC73FFJ01: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 17:30 hours. The damage was substantial. Incident occurred at the Kirkville Airport, Kirkville, NY. This was a local flight from Kirkville, NY. The engine failed or malfunctioned during the initial climb. Collided with trees on touch down. There was a partial power loss with the failure of one engine. The emergency circumstances included; forced off-airport landing on land...

    1990

    The Warner Scarab radial engine that had been used by Coughlin on the aircraft was replaced by an authentic Le Rhne rotary.
