Notes: This is merely a screen shot taken from Super 8mm movie footage I did when working the flight line at Udorn in 1972 - sorry for the poor clarity, but this was all I had then. The movie, or video is posted on Youtube, and shows a quick scan of part of the 13th TFS flight line at Udorn in 1972, and 747 is the last plane on the row at this time.

    Transported by ground.
Moved from Corsicana, TX to Orlando Executive Airport (ORL), Orlando, FL.

    Restoration started.
Jim Philpitt reports (2 August 2014): The jet will be thoroughly cleaned, stripped of her faux-Thunderbirds paint scheme and, after any necessary metal work, repainted in her Vietnam-era camouflage livery, circa 1972. She was assigned to the 432nd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing (which also had several fighter squadrons assigned) at Udorn RTAFB, Thailand in 1972, so she will carry similar markings, although most likely in the colors of the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron (Triple Nickel) that Joe Kittinger commanded at the time. Joes name will be on the aircraft, and although this particular jet never achieved a MiG kill, she will still carry a red star on the inlet strake based on Joes MiG-21 kill in 1972.

To Kittinger Park, Herndon/Orlando Executive Airport, Orlando, FL.
