    Transferred to 388th Transportation Company, South Vietnam.

    September 1968

    Transferred to 2-17 CAV, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, South Vietnam.

    February 1969

    Transferred to D Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Air Cavalry, South Vietnam.

    15 May 1969

    Damaged.
    Damaged by enemy ground fire during a combat mission.

    6 June 1969

    Damaged.
    Damaged by mortar fire while parked.

    29 July 1969

    Damaged.
    During a visual reconnaissance mission, AH-1G 67-15650 was damaged by enemy ground fire.

    January 1970

    Transferred to D Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, South Vietnam.

    3 May 1970

    Shot down.
    During a recon for armed escort mission, AH-1G 67-15650 was attacking at 400 feet and 140 knots when it took a single 7.62MM round to the main rotor blade system. It damaged the system and both mission and flight capability were terminated. The helicopter would eventually be recovered by another helicopter.

    Transferred to F Troop, 4th CAV. Regiment, South Vietnam.

    February 1973

    Transferred to 142nd Transportation Company, South Vietnam.

    Transferred to U. S. Army Aviation Systems Command (AVSCOM), Saint. Louis, MO.

    April 1973

    Loaned to NASA Langley Air Research Center, Hampton, VA.

    May 1973

    Transferred to Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center (ARADMAC), NAS Corpus Christi, TX.

    November 1973

    Transferred to Supply Division, 5th Army, Fort Sill, OK.

    December 1973

    Transferred to 238th Aviation Company, 1st Army, Fort Stewart, GA.

    October 1974

    Base of operations changed.
    Hunter Army Airfield, GA.

    Transferred to 238th Armored Company, 1st Army, Hunter AAF, GA.

    A plaque at the site reads: AH-1 Cobra helicopter serial number 67-15650 saw action in the Vietnam War with D Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Air Cavalry. This aircraft was damaged on three different occasions while flying combat missions from 1968 to 1970. Two former crewmembers of Cobra 67-15650, Capt. Alvie J. Ledford and Warrant Officer William C. Pierson III, were later killed in action while flying a different aircraft. Their names appear on the side of their former aircraft to honor their sacrifice.
