    Notes: CF-DIL at Winnipeg on 6 Aug 70 - The massive wings of the PBY-5 are apparent in this shot. Ilford-Riverton Airways utilised their tankage capacity to haul heating oil up north. During summer, tourist anglers became the cargo, hence the nose inscription The Fishermans Special. This shot is before blister windows were installed for the benefit of those pax.

    Notes: 1986 photo at Dryden ON - Originally built for the RCAF in 1943, this PBY-5A Canso once flew with Ilford-Riverton Airways in Winnipeg as the Fishermans Special. It still had the big blister windows on the rear fuselage and IRA installed ex-Air Canada Viscount seats for the pax. Here in service as a water bomber with Awood Air of Victoria/BC, it went to Spain in 1993, then to the US in 1996 where it has lived an interersting life and is under rebuild as of 2010
