    Constructed as a C-47A-25-DK by Douglas at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-108960.

    1956

    To Inter-Provincial Pipelines, Edmonton with new c/r CF-BZI.

    Circa 1967

    To Northwest Territorial Airways Limited, Yellowknife keeping c/r CF-BZI.

    13 May 1971

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. The accident occurred at Somerset Island, NU (Canada) while landing. Narrative: The C-47 transport plane touched down on the left main gear ski about 150 feet before the approach end of the runway. The skidug into the snow and slewed the aircraft sideways demolishing the undercarriage and causing other damage. The pilot reported loss of depth perception during the approach. PROBABLE CUASE: The landing was attempted in weather conditions below authorized minima thus exposing the pilot to whiteout conditions...
