    Constructed as a Lynx 800.
    Company demonstrator

    From 6 November 1978 to 27 February 1998

    To Westland Helicopters Ltd with new c/r G-LYNX.

    18 May 1979

    First flight.

    11 August 1986

    Converted to a Lynx 800.
    Was fitted with a WG-30 tailplane for the World Speed Record attempt but this was subsequently removed.

    August 1986

    Set the rotorcraft absolute world speed record of 400.87 km/h (249.10 mph) over the Somerset Levels - this record still stands (2014-12).

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Ministry of Defence with s/n ZB500.
    Operated by Westland Helicopters Ltd, Yeovil.

    By 1989

    To Westland Helicopters Ltd, Yeovil with new c/r G-LYNX.
    Reverted to Civil ownership.

    18 January 1995

    Placed on display with The Helicopter Museum, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset-North, England.

    Restored.
    Carried out by apprentices at Augusta-Westland, Yeovil. A WG-30 tailplane as used for the World Speed Record attempt has been refitted.
