    Restored using parts of 122179, including the dataplate. The original plate of 123168 was illegible, so the ID of 122179 was adopted. Mick McKean comments (23 December 2023): Possible correction on BuNo. Both Platinum Fighters Sales and Vintage Aviation News have articles that state this airframe is identified as BuNo. 123168. From Vintage Aviation News : After much sleuthing, the restorers believe that her center section came originally from Bu.123168/FAH603, so that is how they identify her.

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the East Troy Municipal Airport (57C) East Troy, WI, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. Before the accident flight, the airplanes brakes were replaced with a custom brake system. Testing of the brake system after installation resulted in a failure of the right master cylinder. The cylinder was disassembled and the O-ring was found cut. The mechanic could not find any reason for the cut O-ring, so the O-rings on both master cylinders were replaced...
