    1957

    Constructed as a H-13J-BF.
    One of two UH-13Js purchased for use by President Eisenhower. Bell added two new features to the presidential H-13Js; all-metal rotor blades to increase the helicopters useful load, and special anti-glare tinting to the huge plexiglass nose bubble.

    20 February 1957

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 57-2729.

    20 February 1957

    Transferred to Presidential Flight, National Airport, Washington, DC.

    13 July 1957

    President Eisenhower became first president to travel by helicopter.

    It routinely flew with Eisenhower and a Secret Service agent.

    1961

    Transferred to 1001st Helicopter Squadron, Bolling AFB, DC.
    Removed from presidential service and used to carry high-ranking Department of Defense personnel and numbers foreign dignitaries.

    18 September 1962

    Redesignated as UH-13J-BF.

    July 1967

    To Smithsonian, National Air and Space Museum, Paul Garber Facility.

    2000

    Loaned to Strategic Air and Space Museum, Ashland, NE.
