    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 155472.

    November 1968

    Transferred to Sea Control Squadron 41 (VS-41), NAS North Island, CA.

    From 16 January 1969 to April 1972

    Transferred to Light Attack Squadron 4 (VAL-4), Naval Support Activity Detachment Airfield, Binh Thuy Air Base, South Vietnam.
    Operated with markings: UM-107

    25 May 1969

    Involved in an incident.
    Lieutenant Russell and Lieutenant Junior Grade Johnson were strafing a target when the aircraft was hit by enemy fire. Lieutenant Russell was killed by a single round that entered the cockpit. Lieutenant Junior Grade Johnson returned the aircraft to Binh Thuy.

    5 April 1972

    Transferred to NAS Cubi Point, Bataan, Philippines.
    Flown here when VAL-4 was decommissioned.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Marine Corps with BuNo 155472.

    Transferred to Marine Observation Squadron 1 (VMO-1), MCAS New River, NC.
