Bradley Haskin comments (1 November 2019): Around that same time, Frank Sanders imported a disassembled Tmk. 20 airframe from the Burmese Air Force, VZ386. It was in poor condition in several shipping crates. Frank also purchased the wreckage of N20SF, as well as assuming the registration number. All of that sat out back of the hangar at Chino for a few years until Frank was flying chase on one of the initial test flights for the Bud Light Special (Super Corsair) in 1982. That was what gave him the idea to put a 4360 on a Sea Fury. They took the Burmese airframe (VZ386) and used parts of the wrecked VZ350 and built up Dreadnought from it, assuming the registration of N20SF, first flying in August of 1983. I THINK this is a Doug Fisher collection photo. |
