    Constructed as a Vampire T.35.

    From Circa 1958 to 30 June 1969

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Australian Air Force with s/n A79-603.

    March 1974

    Mounted on a pole outside the Officers Mess - but inside RAAF Pearce base.

    Notes: T Mk.35 A79-603 had been instructional airframe TA-38 at RAAF Pearce.It was later refurbished and mounted on a pole inside the base, where it was photographed in August 1975

    1984

    Refurbishment was undertaken with the plywood cockpit structure encased in a fibreglass covering to provide protection from the weather.

    2001

    Restoration started.
    The Vampire was refurbished again again for the upcoming RAAF 80th Anniversary celebrations. A scaffold was constructed and the fibreglass was being peeled away when the nose section broke away from the rear cockpit bulkhead. The whole aircraft had to be removed from the pole. The fuselage pod of A79-620 fitted with the flying surfaces of A79 -603 was on display at RAAF Pearce by 2012.
