    Constructed as a P-51K-10-NT by North American at Dallas, Texas, USA.

    Circa 1944

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 44-12016.

    Identity trail of this Mustang has been confused due it being fitted with NAA plate for USAAF s/n 44-63864 c/r N251L. The data plate was removed from wreck of 44-63864 after it crashed at Keflavik, Iceland, during a delivery flight to the USA.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Israeli Defense Force with s/n 2338 and operated with these markings: 38.

    To Israel Itzahki, Herzlia with new c/r 4X-AIM.

    IDFAF had removed all identification plates, adopted id. P-51D 44-63864 by using NAA plate removed from crashed P-51D USAAF s/n 44-63864 c/r N251L wreck on airport dump at Keflavik, Iceland.
